Anyone 8 years old and red belt or higher can add Kobudo (weapons training) to their karate training. You can take a free month to try it in your white gi with dojo weapons. Beginner Package $170.00 includes black gi, sai, and 1st months fees. Beginner fees are $25.00 per month, Advanced fees are $50.00 per month, four classes a month.Family discounts will apply. Beginner Kobudo runs Tuesdays 7:00-7:30pm.
Our next Karate Kids session for 4/5 year olds runs Tuesdays starting January 9 to March 19 (excludes February 20) from 5:30-6:00pm. The cost of this session is $100.00 plus uniform if needed. If you know of anyone interested in joining please have them contact us asap to register.
Karate Alberta has a few events coming up.
January 14, 9:30am-3:00pm – Prospect training at Desa Karate. All KA registered students are welcome to attend. $50 Kata or Kumite only. Kata and Kumite sessions – $75.
February 10, 10:00am-2:30pm – Prospect training at Desa Karate. All KA registered students are welcome to attend. $50 Kata or Kumite only. Kata and Kumite sessions – $75.

Desa School of Karate’s annual Spirit of the North Training and Tournament will include Special Guest Instructors Grand Master Kiyohide Shinjo and his sons Kiyohito Shinjo and Shuichi Shinjo. Watch for fundraisers and registration info to come. Plan to attend as this is one of the best training opportunities of the year!
We are current members of Karate Alberta. Every year each student must submit Karate Alberta Fees of $40.00 per year. Contact us at info@rookekatate.com for info on fees and deadlines. Anyone yellow belt or above must be a member. If you have not registered yet see Kim for a form. Being members of Karate Alberta helps support our style in the competitive arena and allows our students who want to compete the opportunity to do it not only provincially but also nationally.
